Hammer with Nail-Holding Structure:  U.S. Patent # 5,894,764

Often, when working with hammer and nails, only one hand is really free. The other hand could be holding the board or holding on to a ladder. In these situations, it is difficult to hold the nail so it can be struck by the hammer. This clever hammer allows the user to tap the nail into position with just one hand. After the nail is positioned, it can easily be removed from the hammer head, single-handedly, and driven in. The working model has proven to work in a smooth, ergonomic motion. It accommodates nails sizes 6 to 12d. (11-30-99)
