Dryer Exhaust Vent Tester available for license: U.S. Patent # 6,220,092

Dryer Exhaust Vent Tester:

A sure sign of a clothes dryer on the "fritz" is when the user needs to run it twice before the clothes are dry. In a gas or electric heated dryer, the culprit is usually a partially or even a completely clogged dryer exhaust vent hose. The user will generally cringe at the prospect of having to call a repair person to come out -- not only will they have to pay for the service call, but will probably have to take time off from work to be home to let the repair person in.

The Dryer Exhaust Vent Tester allows the user to test his / her own dryer to see if the exhaust system is blocked, or if it may be another matter that may require a repair person. It is an air flow testing device for use with a clothes dryer to indicate the degree, if any, of the passage of air from the dryer's exhaust vent. The tester can monitor three different states for the operation of the exhaust system when the dryer's lint trap is removed from its opening and the dryer is operating:

If the exhaust system is fully or partially clogged, a user can simply clean the dryer, including its tubing and flap valve to resolve many common dryer problems, without having to call a repair person.

Markets include homeowners as well as appliance repair businesses. The prototype works perfectly, and the Dryer Exhaust Vent Tester is as easy to use as 1-2-3; it is accurate, lightweight and inexpensive to use.
